Formenti carries out structural work accompanied by certifications, with validation and periodic inspection of metal racking systems to safeguard workers’ health and safety.
Certification is obtained in accordance with the regulations in force in Italy on health and safety in the workplace, as established in the Consolidated Law (Legislative Decree 81/2008), supplemented by UNI 11635 and UNI EN 15636 standards for all companies using industrial metal racking systems including cantilever racking systems, drive-in or drive-through pallet racks.
Formenti conducts certification audits for:
- lightweight racking systems
- medium/heavyweight racking systems: industrial pallet racks, cantilever racks, drive-in racks, drive-through racks
- mezzanines
- heavyweight racking systems: sheet metal racks, coil racks and heavy compactable racks
- automated or static racking systems
- dynamic or gravity flow racking systems
Certification includes:
- identification of permitted configurations and relative load capacities
- calculation report where required
- technical drawings identifying permitted configurations
- load capacity signs that are clear and easy to understand
Certification is useful for obtaining ISO 45001:2018 certification.
Formenti conducts annual audits, now mandatory at warehouses fitted with racking systems accessed by means of handling equipment, governed by the UNI-EN 15635 standard.
The service includes:
- inspection report
- updated overall layout drawings of the racking systems, indicating any damage identified and a list of materials that need to be supplied or replaced for safety reasons
- notes on work to be carried out to repair damaged parts
- racking systems use and maintenance manual
- register of scheduled periodic inspections
The service is completed with an offer for the supply of labour and materials based on the conclusions of the inspection report.
